NENÉU LIBERALQUINO TRIO
Started in 1977 by the brazilian conductor, guitarist, arranger and composer Nenéu Liberalquino, this acoustic guitar TRIO has as one of its aesthetic principles their instrumental version of the Popular Brazilian Music (MPB).
Iniatially, the group also consisted of guitarists Ricardo Liberalquino and Arnaldo Fernandes. Nowadays, the TRIO has two other great guitarists – Cláudio Moura and Guilherme Calzavara, who began in 1999.
The TRIO has already toured through several cities of Brazil and performed in a number of important events, such as: Instrumental Project (SESC-PE), TOM BRASIL (Bank of Brazil), Garanhuns Winter Festival (PE), Malakoff Tower Instrumental Project (PE), Instrumental Project of Fernando de Noronha” (PE), INSTRUMENTAL IN CONCERT (PE), VILLA-LOBOS PROJECT” (Clube do Choro - Brasília) and III INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL (BH).
In the CD “ACQUALUZ”, Nenéu’s third albumn and first with his TRIO, we find a very ecletic repertoire of arrangements which not only include MPB songs of a variety of rhythms (from waltz to frevo, baião and choro), but also pieces composed by Nenéu Liberalquino himself.
